Gerry's Portraiture
All paintings here are in the collection of Joe and Jane Abramo, Kauai, unless otherwise noted.
Gerry's first love and passion was Portrait Art.
She was commissioned for many portraits.
She worked mostly in Pastel and Oils.
The first works highlighted here are the Family Portraits.
She was very insistant to have each and every member of the family to sit for her.
These are the results.

Self Portrait
After her youngest daughter Cindy's tragic death, at only 19 years of age, in an automobile accident,
she went through a very angry & defiant phase which is clearly captured in this self portrait.

Nicholas J. Abramo
Gerry's husband passed away unexpectedly in 1968.
She painted this portrait of him shortly after his death from a photo and memory.

Joey 1978
Gerry demanded to do my portrait on a visit to MA from California.
I waited too long to sit for her, and ended up sitting on my last day, almost causing me to miss the plane back to Calif.

Jane 1987
Gerry also demanded to do Jane’s portrait while she was on Kauai for our wedding.
She was demanding. Jane sat for Gerry in her wedding dress and Haku Lei.

Jackie’s portrait was done from a 2nd Grade Hanalei School Photograph.

This painting was done from a photograph taken during one of Dave's visits to Kauai.
The photo was taken in 1995 at Hanalei Bay during a family surf lesson.

Dave is Gerry's 2nd son. Estimated date circa 1975.

Sharon Ann Woodbury (Abramo)
Sharon is the mother of Dave's children Ryan, David Jr., and Nicole. (see below).
Sharon posed on numerous occasions for Gerry at Grace Cirle in Marlboro in early 1976.

Ryan is Dave's first born son, and Gerry's Grandson. Completed when Ryan was age 20.

Marsha Abramo
Mom demanded Marsha to please sit for this portrait, she was 28 years old.
It was done during her Thanksgiving visit in 1979 while Gerry was still living in Marlboro.
